Perfect for babies

I put this at top of my stairs for my 8 month old who was already started crawling and now at almost 1 he doesn’t sit still. The color is nice so aesthetically it fits well where we put it. Very easy too assemble all you need is a screw gun, drill bits, a pencil, and maybe a tape measure. Just follow the template that’s provided and put it where you see fit. It took me 10 minutes to install. It is easy to unlock and lock with one hand if you’re holding your baby. He stands up and hits it and leans on it and is durable. We will probably order another one for the downstairs to keep him from going into to kitchen at times where we need him chill out for a little.

Good Product, BUT Bad Instulation Instruction and Cheap Quality Screws!

The product itself is wonderful. It works very well once you have it is installed and the client really likes it. The installation instructions on the other hand are terrible! They tell you that you need a drill and a drill bit, but they don't tell you what size drill bit you need for the drywall installation. So it's a guessing game as to what drillbit you should use. If you happen to use to big one, you're in real trouble. So you must progressively go through one drill bit at a time, slowly getting larger and larger until you are able to tightly install the plastic collar that the screw goes in for the drywall mount. I also had to use the screws that they provide to go into wood. I pre-drilled the holes and when I went to use the screws the first one snapped off, leaving just barely enough of the screw left to get vice grips on and twist it back out. The second screw stripped out completely at the head of the screw. And so did the next one. The fourth screw I put in snapped off again like the first one, this time leaving nothing to grab onto to remove it. So now I have to to adjust the hole for the replacement screw over to the side, making the mounting piece offkilter and looking terrible. The client didn't like this at all, but understood that there was nothing else I could do.
I am a professional and I'm hired to do this type of work all the time, this is my job. I've been doing this for many many years now. I know that when the screws start stripping and breaking like this it is only because there are of cheap quality. I went out and bought some new screws and use them in the wood without any problems. BE AWARE OF CHEAP QUALITY SCREWS!!!!

We have this gate at the bottom of our stairs and it works amazing even with our daughter pulling on it as long as it’s locked. I would not advise this at the top of the stairs but it’s perfect for the bottom so that if you’re having adults over or once the kids are in bed you can easily retract it out of the way.

So this is actually my 2nd purchase, I purchased the longer gate in early 2022 and recently the shorter gate for a bedroom doorway. I have a 2 and 3 year sons that are brutes/escape artists. These gates have held up through 40 and 55 lb boys running into it trying to break it down. I love the lock as it is easy to press and push and also pretty crafty so the kids can’t see how to actually open it (YET). 10/10 recommend and will be purchasing another in the future once my house is finished and my boys are in separate rooms. Gives me peace of mind at night knowing I can leave their doors open and hear if they need me and also know that they aren’t up wreaking havoc around the house in the middle of the night
